Further Health Screening assessments
The Health Screening assessments can be personalised with a tailor-made health check up to focus in on your own key health issue, and empower you to take positive, preventative action. If clinically appropriate, you will be able to choose additional assessments from the following choices:
• Bone Density – What is a Bone Density scan and why is it done?
A bone mineral density (BMD) test tests the density of mineral in your bones. This is the best way to determine your bone health.
The test can identify osteoporosis, determine your risk for fractures (broken bones), and measure your response to osteoporosis treatment
• Chest X-Ray – What is a Chest X-Ray and why is it done?
Chest x-ray is a radiology test that involves exposing the chest briefly to radiation to produce an image of the chest and the internal organs of the chest.
Chest x-rays can be used to define abnormalities of the lungs such as excessive fluid, pneumonia, bronchitis, asthma, cysts, and cancers.
• Exercise ECG – What is an Exercise ECG?
The patient walks on a treadmill while the blood pressure and ECG are monitored. The treadmill test evaluates the heart’s response to exercise and how well your heart handles work or exercise.
• MRI scan– What is an MRI scan and why is it done?
MRI uses a strong magnetic field and radio waves to produce detailed pictures of the inside of your body. It is a non-invasive, painless, diagnostic scan which provides a detailed picture, allowing the radiologist to see internal organs.
An MRI scan can create clear pictures of most parts of the body. So, it is useful for all sorts of reasons where other tests (such as X-rays) do not give enough information required. It is commonly used to get detailed pictures of the brain and spinal cord, to detect abnormalities and tumours. Even torn ligaments around joints can be detected by an MRI scan.
• Ultrasound scan – What is an Ultrasound scan?
Ultrasound scan (Ultrasound test / imaging) is a common diagnostic procedure that uses high-frequency sound waves to produce pictures of the inside of the body.
• Specific blood tests
We can provide any blood test required to compliment your health screening. The additional clinical information provided by these tests can help with the diagnosis of many common diseases and ailments that may not be apparent from a physical examination.
Below are some examples of the tests available:
Cardiovascular Risk Profile
Chronic Fatigue Syndrome Profile
Coeliac/Gluten Sensitivity Profile
Well Man Profile
Well Woman Profile
DVT / Pre-travel screen
Female Hormone Profile
Liver Function Tests
Polycystic Ovary Syndrome Profile
